About Us

The Advisors

We’ve built the clinics.
We wrote the codes.

TPAG was founded by senior therapists who have been on both sides of the policy table — running multidisciplinary clinics for 30+ years, while simultaneously advising the AMA and CMS on how to value the services those clinics provide.

Our Story

Insider knowledge. Practice-owner perspective.

Most continuing education for therapy practice owners comes from people who study billing rules from the outside. We don’t. Two of TPAG’s founding advisors hold active seats on the RUC Committee — the Relative Value Scale Update Committee that advises the AMA and CMS on how Medicare values therapy services.

That means when new CPT codes are created, we’re in the room recommending the reimbursement rates. When policymakers weigh how to value a 30-minute dysphagia treatment versus a 60-minute stuttering session, TPAG advisors have a seat at that table.

At the same time, all three founding advisors have spent 30+ years running actual therapy practices. Multidisciplinary clinics. Real payroll. Real payer contract negotiations. Real margin pressure. When we teach you how to respond to a billing code change, we’re thinking about what it means for your staff, your payer mix, and your bottom line — not just what the regulation says.

TPAG exists because clinic owners deserve advisory that comes from that combination of inside access and real-world ownership — and that was genuinely missing from the market.

The RUC Committee

What it means that we’re
at the policy table.

The Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) is the advisory body that recommends to the American Medical Association and CMS how Medicare should value medical and therapy services. When new CPT codes are created — like the 10 new SLP codes replacing 92507 — the RUC recommends the reimbursement rates that CMS uses to set Medicare payment. Two of TPAG’s founding advisors hold active RUC seats. That’s not something you can study your way into — it comes from decades of clinical leadership and professional organization involvement. It means we understand these codes from the inside out.
